Inner Gold Therapy:

There are moments in life when many of us long for things to be different. We may feel overwhelmed, unsettled, or anxious, seeking a greater sense of inner peace. At times, we want to better understand ourselves, gaining insight into why we think and feel the way we do. While we may desire change, it can seem difficult to achieve without the guidance and support of a trained, empathetic professional.

I believe that each individual is unique, with the potential and inner wisdom to create positive changes, solve challenges, discover their true selves, and live a life that is fulfilling and meaningful.

Cathy: Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Hypnotherapist

About Me

Hello, my name is Cathy, and I’m based in Milton Keynes.

I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, and that’s why my priority is to provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental environment where you can express yourself freely and authentically. With over 15 years of experience supporting individuals across various charities and schools, I have worked with a wide range of mental health challenges.

I am a fully qualified counsellor and hypnotherapist, holding a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills (DIP Hyp CS) and a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Practice (PROF. DIP PSY C). My approach integrates several therapeutic techniques, including Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, CBT, and Hypnotherapy, allowing me to adapt our sessions to suit your unique needs and help you achieve your goals in a way that feels right for you.

Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, offers a profound metaphor for the counselling journey.

At its core, Kintsugi is not just about fixing what’s broken: it’s about honouring the fractures, embracing the imperfections, and finding beauty in the process of repair. In the counselling context, Kintsugi represents a transformative journey towards wholeness, where you can learn to rediscover your inner strength and embrace your unique story. Kintsugi teaches us that our scars tell stories of resilience, growth and survival.

The application of gold in Kintsugi holds powerful symbolism. Gold represents not only material wealth, but also spiritual richness, enlightenment and transformation. In the context of counselling, finding your inner gold means discovering the inherent value and strength within yourself. It’s about recognising the unique qualities, talents and virtues that make you precious and irreplaceable. Through self-reflection and introspection, you can unearth your inner gold – your core essence, resilience and potential for growth.

The process of repairing pottery in Kintsugi requires patience, skill and mindfulness. Similarly, the counselling journey is a gradual process of self-discovery and healing. I am here to support you through this delicate process with compassion and empathy.

Ultimately, Kintsugi teaches us that our scars do not diminish our worth: they enhance our beauty and resilience. By embracing our imperfections and finding our inner gold, we can emerge from life’s challenges stronger, wiser and more whole than before.
